Five Stories Spirits is one of Northern Row’s in-house distilling programs, rooted beneath our historic brewery in Over-the-Rhine. Under the Five Stories name, we distill and age gins, vodkas, and brandies using traditional methods inspired by Pre-Prohibition American spirits.
The name Five Stories comes from the building itself, a five-story landmark that has stood over McMicken Avenue since 1895. But it also reflects the people who pass through it. Northern Row has always been built around the idea that everyone has a story to tell. Some just take a few pours to get there.
PEPPER FLAVORED VODKA

Our Five Stories Peppered Vodka is crafted from a blend of poblano, serrano, habanero, jalapeño, and other fresh peppers, each lending its own character to the spirit.
After a 10-day maceration, the vodka is carefully distilled to tame the heat while enhancing the peppers’ natural flavor and aroma. The result is a balanced vodka that is bold yet approachable, delivering spice without overpowering the palate.
Perfect for a Bloody Mary, versatile enough for any cocktail, and smooth enough to sip over ice, this is vodka that celebrates both tradition and innovation in every pour.
Our Peach Brandies are an ode to history, much like our artifact-filled taproom itself. Each year, the Georgia Peach Truck rolls into town carrying some of the ripest peaches we can get our hands on. Using our antique 1894 fruit press, we mash and distill real fruit into something increasingly rare: true peach brandy. Rooted in pre-Prohibition tradition, these small-batch spirits capture the bright, floral character of fresh peaches in a slow-sipping spirit built to last.

Our Peach Brandy is truly a labor of love. We start with thousands of pounds of Ohio-grown peaches, hand-process them with the help of a 19th century fruit press, then ferment the juice and distill the wine.
The yield is modest, but the result captures the pure essence of ripe peach in every sip. Best enjoyed neat in a snifter or mixed into a timeless cocktail, this brandy is our tribute to patience, craft, and the beauty of local fruit.

Peach brandy has long been part of Cincinnati’s story, with peach trees planted in the city’s early days and local distillers crafting the spirit. In 2020 we carried that tradition forward, hand-processing Ohio peaches with our 19th century fruit press before fermenting, distilling, and barreling the spirit. The result is a brandy that captures our love for Cincinnati and our dedication to craftsmanship.

This third release in our barrel-aged
gin series delves into the unique possibilities of aging gin through carefully chosen barrels and finishing techniques. Aged in American charred white oak and matured in French oak Cabernet Sauvignon barrels from our friends at Revel Urban Winery, this gin offers a complex, layered experience.
On the nose, you’ll find fresh-cut cherry wood, cedar and mint, leading to a palate of warming spices, licorice, and well rounded tannins. The finish is delicately sweet, revealing notes of vanilla and cinnamon.

Cincinnati Gin is a celebration of place. Born from a collaboration between mixologist Molly Wellmann, Five Stories Spirits / Northern Row, and the Krohn Conservatory, this gin draws its soul from botanicals you’ll find inside Krohn’s glasshouse.
Bold juniper and fresh ginger open the sip, citrus notes of lime and mandarin follow, and the finish is warm with vanilla and cocoa nibs.
