Precipitation Retaliation

Snowmen, you’ve been warned!

In 2008, a massive snowfall nearly shut down Bockfest. A die-hard few braved the storm, but most were snowed out.

By 2009, retaliation was in order. A snowman effigy was torched in defiance—and the gods took note, blessing us with clear skies. When the ritual worked again in 2010, a tradition was born.

We can’t prove we control Cincinnati’s weather, but in 2012, a tornado miraculously gave way to sunshine just in time for the Bockfest parade after the sacrifice of a snowman.

Plus, burning a snowman is way more fun than watching a groundhog pop its head out of a hole.

Join us Friday, Feb 28 for our annual Precipitation Retaliation, where we burn a snowman in the name of good weather and great beer for Bockfest weekend!

Expect specials, fire, and the ultimate Cincinnati tradition. Stay tuned for more Bockfest announcements!
